Let’s talk about how much I don’t like setting the table. Honestly, in our house, it’s a miracle if we all end up sitting in chairs (you think I’m joking, but I’m not). Of course, I drool over beautiful tablescapes – but it’s rare that I put one together. My friends over at Folkulture gave me the boost I needed this season to create a stunning holiday table from Folkulture and their line of kitchen & table goods.
If you’ve never heard of them before, Folkulture offers a wide variety home goods that blend with any style. From boho chic to modern farmhouse, it’s not difficult to find a place for, well, everything. This season, I used their Juniper table cloth and napkins to create the perfect holiday look in our dining room.
The Foundation for a Stunning Holiday Table
I think it goes without saying that the company surrounding your table is what makes any holiday. But it’s okay to want to create a vibe, you know what I mean? Whenever I style a table, I think about the foundation – the roots of the mood I’m trying to create.
You know me…I don’t ascribe to any design “rules” and encourage you to do whatever the heck you want when it comes to your space. So, the foundation to your table can be whatever piece or aspect you pull from to create the rest of the design. I used Folkulture’s Juniper Green Plaid Tablecloth and napkins.
I pulled from the green and natural texture in the linens when I pieced together the table setting – simple black and cream plates with vintage green glass goblets. The garland and candles running down the center of the table blend well and provide more of the yummy texture I love!
A table setting can be filled with detail and layers – it can also be sweet and simple. I have a tendency to mix the two, honestly. I’ve been able to create a simple but stunning holiday table from Folkulture and am excited to greet friends and family around this space in the coming weeks. I have to tell you, Harrison ran through the dining room and had to do a double take (yep, literally). Then, he said – “Wow!! The table looks GORGEOUS!!” So…you know, take it from Harrison (hehehe).
