How do you define your “style” when there are so many elements that create your style? I’ve classified my personal style in so many different ways over the years and have finally settled on eclectic. Eclectic is the sophisticated way of saying “mix of crap” or “a little bit of this and that” in the decor world (that’s just my opinion, of course, I don’t really know what I’m talking about). As I’ve been refreshing spaces here and there, I’ve embraced more of my Bohemian side and have added fun touches to create a simple vintage boho bedroom makeover in the girls’ room.

A Simple Vintage Boho Bedroom Makeover with Folkulture
When Folkulture reached out to me about a collaboration, I knew exactly what space needed a little of their boho-chic magic. The girls’ room has been an ongoing project for the last few years. I’ve rearranged, painted, wallpapered, stripped, thrifted – you name it, I’ve done it. Because I have a tendency to change things around quite a lot, I like to pick accents that are great quality but also affordable.
Folkuture carries a variety of stylish and affordable items for your home. On first browse, I fell in love with the Bohemian wall tapestries in soft but vibrant colors and design. You know I’m all about the “peace & love” vibe and these tapestries definitely hit the mark!
They are lightweight and easy to hang and add an element of texture that I love. I chose the “good vibes” pair of tapestries and decided to hang one above each of the headboards. I already had a “good vibes only” sign on a different wall along with a few pieces of artwork by Frida Kahlo and these tapestries tied in so well! Also, a cute baby brings the charm to any space (yes, she decided to wear her brothers’ undies over her diaper because, why not??)!
Folkulture Items are Multifunction!
From the bathroom to the kitchen, so many of Folkulture’s items are multifunction. One of my latest rehab projects was repainting my childhood vanity for the girls to use in their bedroom. Abbey loves jewelry, lip gloss, and nail polish. I wanted a small container that would hold her lip gloss collection but also look cute. This mango wood container was the perfect size to fit all the gloss. I love the texture and that it could easily be used as a toothbrush holder or as a small vase.
Look at all that yummy texture! They come in a variety of styles and designs – but this blends in so well with the neutral, earthy vibe that’s going on in this space.
Next up, I’ll be re-papering a few walls with the floral paper that Abbey picked out herself. The vibe is strong – and I’m loving it! Thanks to Folkulture for giving this space the minimalist boho touch that I was looking to add!
If you haven’t already, go take a peek at Folkulture’s shopfront. I’ll be sharing a few of the kitchen items I nabbed as well. Do you see anything that catches your eye? Let me know, friends! Until next time, peace, love, & light (after coffee)!
