Valentine’s Day is just a handful of days away and I’m sharing one last quick recipe hack to make for a sweet treat or gift to someone special. Take a peek at these easy Valentine peanut butter blossom cookies that are both gorgeous AND tasty!
Being the procrastinator that I am, I didn’t get to making peanut butter blossoms over the holidays. They are a standard of mine and I just didn’t get it together this year. Ever have too many ideas rolling around your head and not enough time or hands to get it all done? Yep. That’s me. After whipping these up the other day, I question why I didn’t just DO it. I mean, it only took me 15 minutes start to finish. That’s it!
I do that a lot. I finally complete a project after putting it off for ages and realize – “well…that wasn’t so bad! What the cheesecake was I waiting for?!” There are a lot of reasons we do that – anxiety, busy-ness, fear of failure, kids running rampant, exhaustion – but it can be so self defeating when you get caught in that cycle.
Make the Damn Cookies.
What’s my point? Thanks for asking. My point is simple: make. the. damn. cookies. That’s all. It’s not hard (even on the days it feels like it’s so hard to do one more thing). I was tired and annoyed when I started pouring flour and sugar into the bowl. Then, my “little helpers” came around with that ever-present question rolling off their tongues, “whatcha doin’ mama?” The truth is that I often feel burned out. Batteries empty. But those messy little hands and grubby little grins give me just the boost I need to see things in a different light.
Keep that in mine this Valentine’s Day – whether you’re an exhausted mama/grandma – or just having a hard time trying to balance everything that life throws your direction. Make some cookies. Let’s do it.

These make such a quick and easy treat for the holiday. Bag them up in clear little baggies and give them as gifts to your neighbors. Share with family and friends. Hide away in the pantry and eat a couple in solace. But whatever you do…just make the damn cookies. Until next time, peace, love, & light (after coffee) my friends.
